First-ever World Hepatitis Testing Week observed in Bangladesh

National Liver Foundation of Bangladesh (NLFB) organized the World Hepatitis Testing Week (WHTW) in Bangladesh along with the member countries of World Hepatitis Alliance. November 18 - 24, 2024, the first-ever World Hepatitis Testing Week was observed to commence as a global initiative to awareness building and bringing the peoples for testing to detect the undiagnosed, untreated hepatitis B and C affected individuals to bring them under treatment and care. Events of World Hepatitis Testing Week were: • Weeklong Free Testing for all at NLFB premises in Panthapath, Dhaka, from November 18-24, 2024. • Free Testing event for underprivileged women in Begum Rokeya Nari O Shishu Shasthya Unnayan Sangstha (Bernossus) held on November 18. 2024 at Uttara, Dhaka. • Free Testing event for members of Inner Wheel Club of Dhaka Cosmopolitan held in Uttara , Dhaka. • World Hepatitis Testing Week Rally was held at Daffodil International University (DIU), Ashulia, Bangladesh on 23 Nov 2024 jointly organized by NLFB and Dept. of Public Health, DIU. • WHTW Seminar held DIU, Ashulia, Bangladesh on 23 Nov 2024. Professor M. Lutfar Rahman,Vice Chancellor of DIU chaired the event. Prof. Mohammad Ali highlighted the importance of the World Hepatitis Week on that event. • Free Testing event held at DIU, Ashulia, Bangladesh on 23 Nov 2024. Hundreds of university students tested for hepatitis B and c with great enthusiasm. • A live Television program on WHTW telecasted at News 24 TV channel on 22 November 2024. Prof. Mohammad Ali highlighted the importance of the WHTW. • Article of Prof. Mohammad Ali on WHTW published in the daily Kaler Kantho on November 17, 2024. • A special report on WHTW published on Daily Sun bd on November 18, 2024. #HepTestWeek
